FORT FISHER, NC (WWAY) — The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide that occurred Monday just before 9 a.m. at Fort Fisher State Historic Park.
Adrian Maurice Hall, Jr., was arrested for shooting and killing Christopher Fenty, according to the sheriff’s office.
In a press release, the sheriff’s office said Fenty was sitting in his vehicle at the historic site when Hall approached and started firing several rounds, striking Fenty multiple times.
During the shooting, officials said one round went through Fenty’s vehicle and also struck a second victim in the head.
The second victim was rushed to Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center where he is in critical condition.
Hall has been charged with first-degree murder, first-degree attempted murder and two charges of discharging a firearm into occupied property. He’s being held without bond at the New Hanover County Detention Facility.
